After their rousing back-to-back victories this week under the Cardiff floodlights, Glamorgan travel to Bristol for their next match - and another vital encounter - in the Yorkshire Bank40 with the game on Sunday, August 18th scheduled to get under way at 1.45pm.
Gloucestershire played on Thursday at Lord's against the Middlesex Panthers who had a late night journey back to the London conurbation after their 11-run defeat by Glamorgan. But there was little sign of fatigue amongst the home players as Gloucestershire lost to the Panthers with Glamorgan old boy James Harris taking 3/30.
Gloucestershire's defeat keeps them below Glamorgan in the group table, with another important result coming at Taunton where a Peter Trego blitzkrieg saw Somerset to a three-wicket victory over the Yorkshire Vikings, taking the West Country side two points ahead of Glamorgan at the top of the table but with only one more game to play - against Gloucestershire on August 26th
Marcus North and his team will be looking to remain in winning ways in Sunday's 40-over contest at Bristol even though Gloucestershire have proved to be Glamorgan's nemesis this season in the Twenty20 competition, winning at Cheltenham College by ten wickets and then at the SWALEC Stadium by nine wickets.
They were also victorious on May 19th at the Cardiff ground when a career-best 151* by Chris Dent saw Gloucestershire post a total of 288-5. A fluent century by Mark Wallace nearly helped to trump Dent's efforts, but despite some late runs from a combative Graham Wagg, Gloucestershire won by seven runs. However, Glamorgan have a decent record in the competition at the Nevil Road ground, having won seven of the thirteen completed games staged in Bristol since 1969.
