Match Preview

Glamorgan's narrow two-wicket defeat by Gloucestershire at Bristol last Sunday means that the Welsh county have to win their last two matches in the Yorkshire Bank40 in order to maintain their hopes of a semi-final spot. The Welsh county have so far won four out of five completed games at home this season in the competition, including their back-to-back victories at Cardiff against Somerset and the Middlesex Panthers, so Glamorgan will be looking to make it five out of six as they meet the Foxes who they have already beaten this summer in the competition. In that match at Grace Road on June 19th Glamorgan won by 34 runs with Mark Wallace and Chris Cooke each making half-centuries, whilst Michael Hogan's probing pace was rewarded with three wickets.

The Welsh county were victorious last summer in their List A encounter at Swansea, defeating the Notts Outlaws as Ben Wright played a match-winning innings in the rain-affected contest at the St. Helen's ground.

As far as List A encounters between Glamorgan and Leicestershire are concerned, the Welsh county won at Colwyn Bay by four wickets in a record-breaking encounter in August 2008 as the Welsh county made 292 thanks to 81 from Mike Powell and an impish 48 off just 17 balls by Mark Wallace who struck 5 fours and 4 sixes as his side posted their highest-ever score batting second to win a Sunday League game.
