Match Preview
Victory in the game is very likely to see the Welsh county clinch a semi-final spot after their victory at Swansea against the Leicestershire Foxes which has taken them into second place in the able. There is nothing on the contest as far as the Vikings are concerned, with the home side having lost eight of their eleven contests in this year's competition, including their most recent game on August 15th against Somerset at Taunton where an unbeaten 140 from Peter Trego saw Somerset defeat Yorkshire by three wickets in the final over of the contest.
Glamorgan were victorious in their game against the Vikings which opened their campaign in this year's competition on May 5th at Colwyn Bay. Half centuries from Will Bragg, Chris Cooke and Marcus North saw the Welsh county post a decent total of 285-7, and although Gary Ballance and Johnny Bairstow made fifties for the Vikings, their efforts were trumped by a fine spell of 3/29 from Michael Hogan as Glamorgan won by 28 runs.
Yorkshire were victorious the last time the two sides met in a List A contest on Yorkshire soil on August 31st, 2008 with the White Rose county winning at Scarborough by 49 runs. Glamorgan's most recent victory in a one-day game in Yorkshire took place on May 25th 2003 when the Welsh county won by four wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis Method. In that contest, reduced by rain to 32 overs per side, Andrew Davies, Alex Wharf and Adrian Dale all claimed two wickets apiece whilst Mike Powell scored 47 as Glamorgan reached their target with four overs to spare.
