Unbeaten Glamorgan will be looking to make it four wins out of four as they meet Somerset, who themselves are undefeated so far this summer in the Friends Life t20, with the contest, at the SWALEC Stadium, scheduled to get underway at 6.30pm on Friday, July 12th (Gates opening - 5pm).
This promises to be a crackerjack of a game after Glamorgan's home and away double over the Warwickshire Bears and following their stirring victory at New Road against Worcestershire. But Somerset also have a 100% record after beating Gloucestershire and then on Sunday recording a thrilling victory over the Northants Steelbacks at Taunton with former Glamorgan captain Alviro Petersen playing a match-winning innings with 64 off just 35 balls as his side won by six wickets with seven balls to spar
Both counties have won their matches batting second, and this trend - as well as the unbeaten tags - will end in this contest which is expected to bring, with fine weather forecasted, a large crowd on Friday evening to the SWALEC Stadium where the record capacity for a domestic Twenty20 game is 9,200 at the match against the Gloucestershire Gladiators in 2010.
Last year's game between the two teams at the Cardiff ground was washed out, whilst the contest at Taunton on June 22nd saw Somerset winning a thrilling encounter off the penultimate ball, thanks to a superb century by James Hildreth, off just 53 balls, as he guided his side home by four wickets.
The West Country side were victorious in 2011 when they played at the SWALEC Stadium with spinner Arul Suppiah recording a remarkable return of 6/5 Somerset also won in 2010 at the SWALEC Stadium as captain Marcus Trescothick blasted an imperious half-century to see his side to a seven-wicket victory under the Duckworth-Lewis Method.
As far as the Dragons are concerned, their most recent home victory in the Twenty20 competition over Somerset came in 2008, when they were victorious by 14 runs thanks to a return of 3/12 from Robert Croft as the veteran spinner changed the complexion of the game by stifling the visitor's run chase after Justin Langer and Marcus Trescothick had added a breezy 68 in just half a dozen overs.
