Glamorgan meet Gloucestershire in their next game in the Friends Life t20 with the game at Cheltenham College, on Sunday July 21st (starting at 2.30pm) already a sell-out contest as the Welsh county play their first-ever Twenty20 contest at the picturesque and historic ground.
Match Preview
Both of last summer's games - in June and July - between the two sides in the Twenty20 competition were washed out without a single ball being bowled at either Bristol or the SWALEC Stadium. However, Glamorgan have won five out of the last six games between the two sides with the Welsh county winning at Bristol in June 2009 by six wickets and in July 2011 by ten wickets. The West Country side though were victorious in July 2010 as they defeated Glamorgan by eight wickets.
After Friday night's defeat at Taunton, Glamorgan remain in second place in the table with four wins from their six matches in the Twenty20 competition this season, and seeking another victory to equal their achievements of 2004 and 2011 when they also won five matches.
Overall, the Club's record number of wins in a season in 20 overs cricket is six, set in 2010 when they were victorious in half a dozen of the sixteen contests in the competition, so another victory on Sunday afternoon at the delightful Cheltenham ground would move the Club ever closer to this record besides keeping alive their quest of a quarter-final place and the possibility of a top spot in the group table.
