Nottinghamshire were dismissed for 282 against Glamorgan on the final day of their Second Eleven Championship match at the Diamond Ground in Cardiff with John Glover taking 4/45 to help the help side secure a nine-run victory.
Nottinghamshire resumed this morning on 69/3, but they have lost three further wickets this morning - two to teenage spinner Kieran Bull and one to Harry Powell, leaving the visitors still requiring a further 117 runs in the two remaining sessions. Andrew Salter helped to make inroads after lunch as the off-spinner claimed two wickets, inlcuding that of the experienced Ben Phillips as the visiting batsman looked like taking the match away from Glamorgan.
But Glover then returned for a decisive final slavo as he bowled Ben Hutton to give Glamorgan a well-deserved victory. Yesterday, Glover had made early inroads, claiming three wickets in a feisty new ball spell which saw Nottinghamshire -chasing 302 for victory - slip to 15/3. He had also been amongst the wickets in the visitors first innings with figures of 4/39 whilst Bull also claimed 3/6 from twenty balls to fillet the tail.
Will Bragg (56) and Stewart Walters (63) then extended Glamorgan's lead by adding 91 in 15 overs with both batsmen completing fifties before Glamorgan declared on 196/9 in the 47th over as they amassed a lead of 301. After his batting heroics on Tuesday evening in the Twenty20 victory over Worcestershire, Ben Wright took the batting honours on the opening day of the contest, with Wright making an assured 121 and sharing in a productive fourth wicket stand of 153 in 41 overs with teenage batsman Aneurin Donald who made 72.
