Glamorgan's LV=County Championship match against Leicestershire at Grace Road ended in a draw after rain allowed just 12.4 overs on the final day with the home side finishing on 182/2.
The visitors were hoping that the band of blustery showers had moved away, but once again, there was a heavy cloud over the city of Leicester from breakfast time and when the players arrived at the ground shortly after 9am, it was already starting to drizzle. The rain continued to fall throughout the morning with the umpires - Jeremy Lloyd and Russell Evans - calling for an early lunch at 12.30pm.
The rain eased around 1.30pm and despite a blustery wind blowing across the ground - making the meteorological conditions feel more like mid-winter than mid-May - the groundstaff started to remove the protective sheets and covers, with the umpires calling for an early tea at 3.10pm, with a start time of 3.30pm with 40 overs remaining in the day's allocation.

Play duly began at 3.30pm with 40 overs remaining in the day's allocation with Greg Smith edging the fourth delivery of the day from john Glover through a vacant fourth slip. Ned Eckersley did the same in Graham Wagg's opening over before Smith clipped Michael Hogan through extra cover for three. Eckersley also pulled the tall paceman for four but with his tenth delivery of the day, Hogan ended Smith's three-hour innings as the opener departed leg before with the total on 151.
Joe Burns duly replaced Smith as some weak sunshine bathed the ground, and he opened his account with a four through extra cover before edging Hogan to the vacant third man position. A more assertive cover drive for four followed from the bat of the young Australian in Hogan's next over before Mike Reed returned at the Bennett End.
At 4.25pm the rains returned forcing the players and umpires off the field, and with the rain still heavily falling ten minutes later, the contest was abandoned as in a draw.
