It's been a talking point around Glamorgan's grounds throughout the summer, with visiting spectators and Club members taking part in Crofty's Challenge as they have selected a Glamorgan "dream team" drawn from the galaxy of stars - both home-bred and overseas - who appeared for the Welsh county during the legendary all-rounder's career which spanned a quarter of a century.
Today, Robert announced his chosen XI, and the four prize-winners in the competition were announced on the opening day of Glamorgan's LV=County championship match against Kent at the SWALEC Stadium - the ground where, and the opponents against whom, Robert ended his magnificent career last summer as a Glamorgan player by claiming a wicket with his final ball for the county.
Robert's team - to play an imaginary one-day game under the Cardiff floodlights - is as follows:
Hugh Morris
Steve James
Viv Richards
Matthew Maynard
Jim Allenby
Mark Wallace (wicket-keeper)
Robert Croft
Alex Wharf
Roland Lefebvre
Dean Cosker
Steve Watkin
The four prizewinners are as follows:
Glamorgan CCC will be shortly contacting the four winners above regarding their prizes, whilst a special print will be available from the Autumn, containing Crofty's XI which will be available to purchase and help raise funds for the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket.
