The Notts Outlaws will be Glamorgan's opponents in the YB40 final at Lord's on Saturday, September 21st following the East Midlands side demolition of Somerset by eight wickets in the semi-final at Trent Bridge.
Glamorgan defeated the Outlaws the last time the two sides met in a 40 overs game - last summer at Swansea when they won a rain-affected contest by two runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method, thanks to a vibrant half-century by Ben Wright, who was one of Glamorgan's batting heroes on Saturday in their 31-run victory over the Hampshire Royals at the Ageas Bowl.
The Outlaws completed a home and away double over Glamorgan in 2011, which was the Welsh county's first appearance at the Nottingham ground since August 27th, 2006. On that day seven years ago, Glamorgan were victorious by five wickets thanks to a fine spell of 3/27 by Andrew Davies, plus a composed unbeaten 41 from James Franklin as they won with a dozen overs to spare.
Glamorgan are the only county never to have won a showpiece one-day final at Lord's, having been on the losing side on both occasions, losing to Middlesex in the Gillette Cup in September 1977, whilst in June 2000 they were beaten by Gloucestershire in the final of the Benson and Hedges Cup - a match which saw captain Matthew Maynard score a memorable hundred to win the Man-of the-Match Award, besides becoming the first batsman in the history of the game to make hundreds in both the semi-final and final of a one-day competition.
In contrast, the Notts Outlaws have been to Lord's on four previous occasions, winning two and losing two, with their most recent success coming in the Benson and Hedges Cup of 1989 when they defeated Essex by three wickets
Both counties will be in action in the LV=County Championship in the lead up to the game with Glamorgan meeting Essex in Chelmsford, whilst Nottinghamshire will have a much longer journey to make down to Lord's as they are meeting Durham at Chester-le-Street from Sept 17th until Sept 20th.
