On a day when sporting teams from the Southern Hemisphere enjoyed success over rugby teams from the Home Nations, it was appropriate that Hamish Marshall, whose affiliations lie in New Zealand, and Australian-born Michael Hogan should take centre-stage at Bristol as the Kiwi made a century whilst the fast bowler claimed his 100th wicket for Glamorgan in first-class cricket as Gloucestershire reached 308/5 at the end of the opening day of their LV=County Championship match.
