Glamorgan welcomed Colin Ingram back to their ranks this week and the South African was pleased to be back.

Batsman Ingram spent the majority of the winter back in his homeland playing for The Warriors, but said coming back to Cardiff for his second stint with Glamorgan ‘felt like I had never left’.

He said: “It’s really great to be back. Driving into the ground on Friday, it felt like I hadn’t left, which is great.

“It was great to catch up with the guys as well and get straight back into it.”

Ingram amassed 931 runs in County Championship cricket last year and is looking to improve on that total this time around.

He added: “You can’t frown on that (931 runs) in your first full season, but I was a little disappointed.

“I got a lot of starts and didn’t push on last season, so my goal this year if to make it count if I get in.”

The South African batsman, who has played 31 ODIs for his country, missed the last six weeks of the winter season.

Ingram added: “I’ve had a good rest in the last six weeks so I’m feeling really fresh and ready to go. I’m thoroughly enjoying playing as much cricket as I can.”

Ingram is part of the Glamorgan team that will take on Cardiff MCCU today, after the first day was washed out. Play starts at 11am.
