Sunday's opponents Kent boast a hugely exciting batting lineup, coupled with an experienced bowling attack – but young opener Daniel Bell-Drummond is arguably the jewel in the Cantebury crown.
The batsman, 22, has already racked up 57 first-class appearances since making his debut in 2011 as a 17-year-old.
He has already amassed more than 3,000 runs and in the process has established himself as a mainstay of the Kent top order.
Bell-Drummond was still a teenager when recently-retired Kent legend Rob Key proclaimed the youngster would play 100 Tests for England.
He famously thrilled the Canterbury crowd last year with a 92-ball hundred against Australia, putting a first-innings duck against Mitchell Johnson behind him and achieving three figures with successive sixes. That brought him into the reckoning for the England Lions, for whom he has appeared several times in the past 12 months.
And by starting the 2016 season with a double-hundred against Loughborough MCCU and hitting 124 against Leicestershire, Bell-Drummond is finally fulfilling his early promise.
He is joined by Sam Northeast, Sam Billings and New Zealander Tom Latham on the Kent playing staff and will be hoping to continue his blistering start to the season against Glamorgan on Sunday.
