Worcestershire are Glamorgan's next opponents in the LV=County Championship, with the West Midlands side meeting the Welsh county in the four-day encounter starting at the SWALEC Stadium at 11am on Wednesday, April 17th.
The last time the two sides met at Cardiff for a Championship encounter was in September 2008, but the weather played a major role, washing out play on all four days of the encounter.
You have to go back to 1991 for the last Worcestershire victory at Cardiff - a contest which the visitor's won by ten wickets thanks to a fine 186 from opening batsman Tim Curtis, plus a decent bowling performance by the visiting seam bowlers which forced Glamorgan to follow-on. Then it was the spinners who enjoyed themselves on the Sophia Gardens wickets, with Graeme Hick taking 5/42 with his off-spin. But you have to go back even longer - forty two years to be precise - for Glamorgan's last Championship victory over Worcestershire at Cardiff, with Tony Lewis' team of 1971 winning by an innings and 46 runs.
