Junior players and coaches from Britton Ferry Steel and Ebbw Vale cricket clubs have been invited to Glamorgan's next home Twenty20 fixture at the SWALEC Stadium as the Welsh county hosts Worcestershire to celebrate a new partnership, set up to support grassroots cricket.

The two clubs are the first examples of a new scheme - developed jointly by Cricket Wales, Glamorgan Cricket and LV= SOS Kit Aid - to allow Welsh cricket players and supporters of all ages to donate unwanted cricket equipment to another developing club or team in Wales that needs it.

Ebbw Vale CC will be donating kit to Britton Ferry Steel CC and junior members from both clubs will enjoy a pre-match training session with Cricket Wales coaches as well as getting tips from Glamorgan Cricket and LV=SOS Kit Aid Ambassador, Robert Croft on their visit to the SWALEC Stadium.

Speaking about the new partnership, Croft said:
"It's fantastic that Cricket Wales and LV= SOS Kit Aid are joining forces to support grassroots cricket. I've seen the difference unwanted kit makes to kids in less fortunate surroundings and it's very inspiring to know that this partnership is 100% focused on meeting their need."

Jill Kennedy programme manager at LV= SOS Kit Aid added:
"We are delighted to agree this new partnership for clubs in Wales. I'm sure by working with Cricket Wales and Glamorgan, the scheme can be beneficial in allocating unwanted cricket equipment to those who need it most."

At the click of a button, arrangements can be made for the unwanted items to be picked up from homes, schools or clubs and delivered to the recipients. To donate your old cricket kit, please click the link www.lvsoskitaid.com/

LV= SOS Kit Aid is a joint venture between The Lord's Taverners and the SOS Kit Aid charity, sponsored by Liverpool Victoria insurance. The charity's aim is to recycle sports kit for the benefit of young people in the UK and overseas. In 12 years more than £3.5m of recycled kit has been distributed to over 135,000 young people in the UK and abroad.
