Jim Allenby's outstanding performance against Nottinghamshire in July 2009 remains the score to beat in the FTI Most Valuable Player rankings for domestic T20 cricket, statistics have revealed.

The Australian all-rounder blasted 110 runs off just 58 balls and took 3-25 against the Trent Bridge side on the way to accumulating 47.53 points.

It remains almost four points higher than his nearest challenger, Essex's Ravi Bopara, and is yet to be beaten in the three summers since.

Allenby also features elsewhere in the top ten, having scored 41.68 points against Derbyshire with 50 runs off 31 balls, 5-27 and a catch.

He'll now be hoping for more of the same in the county's opening Friends Life T20 of the summer against Worcestershire at New Road.

The FTI MVPs, which feature a £10,000 purse for the cricketer who scoops the top prize at the end of the season, award points for every run scored, wicket taken and catch held.

Bowlers receive higher marks for good economy rates, bowling maidens and for dismissing the top order. Dot balls are also more valuable in FLT20 games this year.

Batsmen are rewarded for high run rates and the percentage of the team's runs they hit and there are more points for those notching 40 and 50 per cent of a team's total.
