Glamorgan Cricket has today announced that New Zealand all-rounder, Nathan McCullum will be their second overseas player for this year's Friends Life t20 competition

McCullum is a highly experienced international cricketer having represented his country on nearly 100 occasions in the shorter formats of the game, including five World Cup tournaments. He is currently playing for New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy and last weekend was named as Man-of-the-Match in the Black Caps' thrilling win over Sri Lanka in Cardiff.

Nathan is the older brother of current New Zealand Captain Brendon, who also had a spell with Glamorgan in 2006 when he scored the Club's fastest-ever fifty in T20 cricket from just 18 balls against the Worcestershire Royals.

Nathan has become a valuable asset in limited overs cricket for New Zealand, most notably in the last ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in the sub-continent. McCullum made his first-class debut for Otago in the 1999/2000 season and made his Twenty20 International debut in 2007 against South Africa at the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup. His best bowling figures in Twenty20 are 4 for 16 against Pakistan in 2010.

32-year old McCullum said: "I'm looking forward to joining up with the Glamorgan squad at the end of this month

"I've spent a bit of time in Cardiff over the past few weeks and have enjoyed playing at the SWALEC Stadium. Spin bowling plays an important role in T20 cricket and I hope to be able to help the team progress to the knock-out stages."

Glamorgan's Head of Elite Performance. Matthew Mott added:

"We are delighted to have secured Nathan's services for this year's Friends Life t20 competition.

He is an experienced T20 cricketer and we believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad."

Glamorgan will play a T20 warm-up game against South Wales Premier League XI at the SWALEC Stadium on Wednesday 25th June, before the opening Friends Life t20 fixture at New Road, Worcester. The first home fixture in the all-action competition is against Warwickshire Bears on 3rd July. All of Glamorgan's home twenty20 fixtures will start at 6.30pm in 2013.

Tickets are priced from £12 for adults in advance, whilst juniors aged 16 and under go free when accompanied by an adult. Buy your tickets from the SWALEC Stadium ticket office - 02920 419 311 - or online at www.glamorgancricket.com/tickets.
