Information for fans travelling to see India v SA

The home of Glamorgan Cricket, Cardiff Wales Stadium, will host the ICC Champions Trophy opening fixture between World Cup champions India and winners of the inaugural Champions Trophy South Africa on Thursday 6th June 10.30am scheduled start of play

Supporters may find the following information of interest to make your journey to the match more enjoyable and easy to organise.

Although the match starts at 10.30am and the forecast is good supporters are encouraged to be inside the venue before 10am as the opening ceremony and presenation will take place following the toss.

At the toss the teams will be announced for this heavyweight contest between two of the world's great cricket teams.

Ticketing

Although there are only limited numbers of tickets available the area is expected to busy with supporters collecting or upgrading their tickets from the match day ticket office point at the Bowls Club. If you wish to collect or upgrade please bring your booking confirmation with you and the person who purchased the tickets will need to come themselves to collect or upgrade.

Expect traffic delays and leave plenty of time to travel, both to and from the game and at the Bowls Club if you need to collect your tickets.

Parking/Travel

There is no parking available at Cardiff Wales Stadium, however there are many city centre car parks close by. Alternatively, to avoid the stress of parking, there a number of good public transport links to get you here. If you are travelling by train, the Cardiff Wales Stadium is only a 20 minute scenic walk away from Cardiff Central Train Station through Bute Park. A punctual bus service also passes very close to the ground on Cathedral Road and ticket holders can use their match ticket for the journey from Central Station to the ground. Also a Park and Ride service will be available for all the tournament games allowing you to park at the Cardiff City Stadium for £10 per car (Post code for Cardiff City Stadium CF11 8AZ). A regular bus service will ferry people the 10-15 minute journey to the home of Glamorgan Cricket from 8am and the last bus will depart back to the Park and Ride at 8pm.

Disabled parking at the venue will be available for the ICC Champions Trophy matches, but applications must be made a minimum of 5 days in advance of the fixture (i.e. 11th June for 16th June England match) and places are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are still available for other tournament games both before and after the conclusion of the opening match from the Ticket Office located at the Cardiff Bowls Club a short distance from the ground and opposite the Mochyn Du. You can also buy tickets in advance from the booth located at the Stadium on non match days, which is open 9am - 5pm.

Gates open at 8.30am tomorrow and close of play will be approximately 6.30pm. On site catering facilities will also be available with the usual food village for international games in Cardiff open for the game tomorrow. Re-entry will be allowed during games in Cardiff, but with a range of entertainment before and during the interval there is plenty to enjoy.
