Glamorgan 2nd XI defeated Worcestershire 2nd XI by six wickets in their Second Eleven Championship match at the Diamond Ground, Cardiff.
Chasing a target of 143, Glamorgan lost Gareth Rees and Tom Lancefield with still over 100 runs needs, but Nick James (38) and David Lloyd (35) steadied the ship as the Welsh county reached 101/4. Conor Gallagher (29*) together with Ruaidhri Smith then guided Glamorgan to a six-wicket victory.
On the second day, another outstanding bowling performance had seen the visitors dismissed for 116 at with Will Owen taking 6/27 from 12.2 overs as Worcestershire nosedived to 34/8. Ruadhri Smith also claimed three wickets, before Worcestershire's lower order mounted a partial recovery.
Earlier on the second day, Rees (51) and Gallagher (44) had helped Glamorgan reach 229 in the 82nd over.
On the first day, Worcestershire 2nd XI had been dismissed for 255 after Glamorgan had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Glamorgan were given a boost when Simon Jones claimed an early wicket against the youthful visiting team. Ruaidhri Smith then claimed 4/52 whilst James and Owen each claimed a couple of wickets as the visitors ended on 255 in the 81st over.
