Glamorgan Cricket is pleased to confirm that Michael Hogan has extended his contract with the Club until the end of 2016 season, giving the team a further boost ahead of tomorrow's Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-final at the Ageas Bowl.
Hogan, who joined Glamorgan from Western Australia, has enjoyed a successful first season in county cricket recording career-best figures in first-class cricket against Gloucestershire with 7-92 at Bristol and is set to become the first Glamorgan bowler since 2003 to take over a hundred wickets in a season in all forms of the game.
He warmed up for Saturday's contest against Hampshire Royals with a six-wicket haul against Kent at the SWALEC Stadium this week to establish his status as the leading bowler in the LV= County Championship with 61 victims.
Hogan has shown good form with the white ball too, with 30 wickets in limited overs cricket, including a best of 4-34 against Somerset, helping to propel the Welsh county to the latter stages of the 40-over competition - and him into third place in the FTI Most Valuable Player bowling rankings.
The Aussie bowler is enjoying life in Wales and has his sights set on helping Glamorgan reach the YB40 Final, commenting:
"I'm really pleased to extend my contract with Glamorgan, my family and I have really enjoyed living in Wales and I have been able to put some performances on the board.
"I hope to improve my game again next year because the first season is always a learning curve in a new environment.
"I'm looking forward to tomorrow's match and spending the next few years here at Glamorgan."
