FOSTER'S parent company, Heineken UK and Glamorgan Cricket have united to create the FOSTER'S Fanzone and ensure the England versus Australia One-Day International is an even better experience for cricket supporters.
2013 is a special year for both FOSTER'S and Glamorgan Cricket as they both celebrate their 125th anniversary. FOSTER'S parent company, Heineken UK and Glamorgan Cricket have united to create the FOSTER'S Fanzone and ensure the England versus Australia One-Day International is an even better experience for cricket supporters.
The SWALEC Stadium has already successfully hosted seven days of international cricket this year, the most the venue has staged since the re-development of the Stadium ahead of the 2009 Ashes. The England v Australia contest is the perfect way to close the cricket season, with the biggest rivalry in international cricket giving fans the chance to sample the action before the Ashes returns to Wales in 2015.
Owned by Heineken, the UK's leading cider and beer business, FOSTER'S is already the lager of choice at the SWALEC Stadium throughout the venue's hospitality and public concourse areas. The new partnership will create a Fanzone on the lawn behind the Pavilion at the SWALEC Stadium, with the FOSTER'S Good Call big screen showing the day's sporting action, including the One-Day International and also the best of the international rugby and Premier League football during breaks in play.
Outdoor seating, a range of catering and refreshments will also be available within the FOSTER'S Fanzone, plus there will be entertainment during the day, as adults can relax in the FOSTER'S Fanzone, whilst children can enjoy cricket skills with qualified coaches on the lawn, inflatables, face painting, the chance to meet past England stars as well as the challenging themselves to summit the Boulders Climbing Wall.
Glamorgan Cricket Sponsorship Consultant Tony Dilloway said, "The Club enjoys a strong partnership with Heineken UK and the FOSTER'S brand is already prominent through the Grandstand naming rights, so we are delighted to extend this relationship to create the new Fanzone.
"Heineken's market leading brand portfolio coupled with their commitment to help improve the speed and quality of service throughout the venue gives us the perfect fit for a busy international sporting venue.
"The SWALEC Stadium regularly receives 9/10 for match day experience from supporters for internationals in Cardiff, so we hope the introduction of the FOSTER'S Fanzone will help further improve the match day experience for our supporters."
To help with atmosphere at the SWALEC Stadium, Glamorgan have confirmed that the Barmy Army's Billy the trumpeter will be given admittance to the ODI on Saturday 14th September. Musical instruments are not normally granted admittance to the SWALEC Stadium, but special dispensation has been granted to the Barmy Army on this occasion.
