Glamorgan head to North Wales for their next match in the LV=County Championship, meeting Lancashire at Colwyn Bay in a four-day encounter which is scheduled to start at 11am on Wednesday, May 1st.
After a rain-affected draw with Northamptonshire, Glamorgan got back into winning ways in their most recent Championship encounter, comprehensively defeating Worcestershire by ten wickets at the SWALEC Stadium. Lancashire are also unbeaten so far in the County Championship having drawn with Worcestershire and Kent, so with England's James Anderson in their ranks - plus the vastly experienced batting duo of South African Ashwell Prince and Australian Simon Katich - the supporters of the Red Rose side will be looking for further success at the Colwyn Bay ground.
Both teams will also be hoping that the weather gods are smiling on them at the Rhos-on-Sea ground which in last year's Championship game with Yorkshire saw no play after the first over of the afternoon session on the opening day.
This will be the first time that the two sides have met in the County Championship for a dozen years, with their previous meeting at Colwyn Bay in August 2001 ending in a high-scoring draw with Matthew Maynard, Adrian Dale and Neil Fairbrother all scoring hundreds in the contest which saw a match aggregate of 1,326 runs.
In all, Lancashire have played at the Rhos-on-Sea ground on five previous occasions with the Red Rose county winning the contest in 1994 by 220 runs. The other four, like the encounter in 2001, have all ended all square. Glamorgan's last victory on Welsh soil against Lancashire in a first-class match came in 1996 at Sophia Gardens when they were victorious by 48 runs.
