Glamorgan won their re-scheduled 20 overs friendly against the North Wales Premier League at Mochdre by 37 runs after the initial 40 overs contest was abandoned with only seven overs bowled because of rain.
24/1 saw Marcus North join Bragg and the Glamorgan one-day captain was quickly into his stride with some singles before crisply on-driving Marr for a pair of fours from successive deliveries. Bragg then upper cut James Claybrook for four as Glamorgan reached fifty in the 8th over. The off-spin of Adam Campion was then introduced at the Dolwid End with North reverse-sweeping his first delivery for four.
With the total on 65, Claybrook bowled Bragg for 29 as Murray Goodwin joined North, who reverse-swept another four against Campion before drilling him to long-on and retiring unbeaten on 35 as Stewart Walters joined Goodwin. The latter then square-cut Claybrook for four before sweeping Ashley Wood for successive boundaries to bring up the century.
However, with the total on 109 he miscued to cover with Ben Wright joining Walters. The pair worked the ball around for a series of singles before Wright deftly swept Wood before being caught by Martin Burger. With David Lloyd as his partner, Walters swept Wood for successive fours before some scampered singles in the final over plus another boundary for Walters saw Glamorgan to their total of 152/4.
Dean Cosker opened the bowling and started with a maiden before John Glover removed Aled Williams with his third ball as the opener top-edged a pull to long-leg. Burger, the new batsman, responded by cover-driving Cosker for four before Midgley flat-batted Glover to the ropes followed by an on-driven six. The opener used the long handle again to carve Will Owen through mid-wicket for four before getting a top-edge over first slip to add another boundary to his tally. Burger then cover drove Mike Reed's first ball for four but the paceman gained a scalp shortly afterwards as Midgley miscued another expansive drive and was caught by Cooke.
33/2 became 34/3 as Owen bowled Robbie Jones, the captain of the North Wales side. Reed then switched ends and in successive balls bowled Campion and had Harrison Jones caught behind as the League side slipped further to 41/5 midway through the ninth over. James Claybrook then helped Burger to take the total past fifty, before the former glanced Glover to the ropes at fine-leg. Burger also square-cut Cosker for four before clubbing Glover to long-on for six.
The South African later brought up the hundred by swatting Reed square of the wicket as the paceman, together with Owen bowled the closing overs with further drizzle falling over the ground. He repeated the stroke to bring up his half-century in the penultimate over as the League side ended on 115/5 with Glamorgan winning the contest by 37 runs as ther final over was bowled by fifteen year-old Tom Blackwell of Northop CC.
